These agencies will identify children with individual or family risk factors likely to create problems in mental, physical, social or educational development.

Specialists in helping families thrive and deal with crises will be assigned to each child/family identified. These mentors will assess needs for interventions, determine best services to meet needs, deliver some services, ensure access to more intense services such as mental health and substance abuse treatment, and follow up to make sure the services have led to improved functioning for the family.

Children will be evaluated at ages one, two and three to determine whether they are reaching appropriate outcomes based on pre-determined measurement objectives.

Tasha Wilson has been working in the human services field for almost ten years. She graduated, cum laude from NCA&T in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology. After graduation, Tasha began teaching behaviorally and emotionally disabled students in Guilford County Schools. In 2002, Tasha decided to pursue her graduate degree in Counseling through NCA&T. She graduated in 2005 with a Master of Science degree in Counseling with a 3.9 GPA. Tasha has completed numerous research studies including research on Adolescent Obesity, Music and Aggression, and Trait Anxiety. Tasha has worked in the foster care system and has also served as a volunteer and intern at Moses Cone Hospital and the Developmental and Psychological Center. She has a variety of experience with working in the human services field which includes group/individual therapy sessions, implementing intervention plans, facilitation, assessments, case management, etc. Tasha has completed substantial professional training including NCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention), Serving Special Needs Population training, as well as state and national conferences including SMART START. Tasha currently works with the
Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency
and the Thriving At Three Direct Services Program. She serves over 60 children and families.

Jaimie Lynn Foster is a 2004 graduate of UNCG with a major in Spanish and minor in
Social Work. While in college, Jaimie volunteered as an ESL teacher in different settings. Previous to her present position as a Thriving at Three Coordinator, she served for two years as an Americorps member at Faith Action International House where she taught English as a Second Language, facilitated a Spanish conversation group, trained volunteers to be English tutors and assisted with community events and case management. She is trained in the Parents as Teachers curriculum and has attended numerous professional development conferences such as Smart Start, Centering Pregnancy, Cultural Awareness Seminars, etc. Currently, Jaimie is working on her masters in Education with an emphasis in ESl at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
