Thriving at 3 Programs

Customizing Care

It's customizing the care for each child that will make Thriving at Three successful. And fewer children born each year will need help, because we will already be working with some of the families and their older siblings. Educators talk about the satisfaction of making the difference in the life of just one child. Thriving at Three will make a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of Greater Greensboro's children and their families.

Early Childhood Development/ Parenting Education

A Program Coordinator will offer in-home educational sessions tailored specifically to the family’s needs. Education will include family dynamics and early childhood development.

Counseling

The Coordinator is trained to assist families with making informed decisions regarding child rearing practices and mental health issues through individual and group sessions.

Referral to Community Resources

The Coordinator will provide referrals to community resources available to families and will assist in the coordination of service. Transportation will be provided as needed to access available resources.

Case Management

Case management services are available to assist families with the planning and implementation of services. The Coordinator will conduct a needs assessment interview with the family, identify existing services, connect the family to resources, and maintain service coordination with the family for up to three years.

Support Groups

Support Groups are available through the Thriving at Three programs to help parents share the experiences of raising infants and children, learn from others in similar situations, and reduce their stress. Support groups usually have a leader that facilitates discussions and sometimes brings in experts in parenting education, stress management, nutrition, and other topics. Helping people share their stories with others often helps people feel less isolated, less overwhelmed, and more supported by others. All of which are necessary to lead a healthy life and be a good parent.
